ABOUT:
“After studying commercial photography at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana for two years, I left to work at a commercial photography studio in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1992, I opened my own studio in Mishawaka, Indiana where I specialized in RV, automotive, and architectural photography. I became interested in underwater photography after becoming certified to dive in 2001. In 2003, I sold my studio and moved to Northern Michigan where I live with my wife, Julie.
I have been fortunate enough to dive and photograph all around the world. My image catalog contains thousands of photographs from the Great Lakes, North Florida springs and rivers, the Florida Keys, Bali, Belize, Bonaire, Fiji, Greece, Honduras, Philippines, and North Sulawesi, Indonesia. I’ve won awards in several photography contests and have been published in numerous publications. My work is also on display at the Field Museum in Chicago and UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
I teach several classes at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Michigan and elsewhere. They include underwater photography, land photography, and computer skills classes. I am also certified to teach the Nautical Archaeology Society’s Level III Underwater and Artifact Photography course. I am currently the president of the Grand Traverse Bay Underwater Preserve. [1]
