In his early 20’s, John moved to Los Angles to work on commercials at N. Lee Lacy/Associates. John was a sponge, bouncing between the sets of the 10 staff directors and “A” list DPs learning from greats such as Brian Gibson (Poltergeist II), Harold Becker (Malice, Taps), Haskell Wexler (One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest) and Jordan Cronenweth (Blade Runner). John then worked as Director-Cameraman for ABC and eventually began producing for the network starting up the long running series America’s Funniest People.

These early experiences helped John develop his eye, his directing and set-running skills. Today he is at home on every scale of project: from intimate interviews to directing full-scale episodic productions such as “Honey I Shrunk the Kids.”

John has created signature looks on many television shows such as “Sightings”(FOX), “Ripley’s Believe it or Not!”(Sony). His proficiency in science made him a natural fit for “Mythbusters” (Discovery) and “Time Warp” (Discovery).

Most recently John has directed true crime shows including “Deadly Wives,” two seasons of “Murder Book” and he just wrapped season one of “The Face of Evil” for ID.

John also invented numerous camera rigs including the CamGlide and the Brokeh Lighting System used on motion picture, television and photography sets worldwide. [1]

Who were they?… Why did they come?… What did they leave behind?… Where did they go?… Will they return?…
